ATC’s Innovation Lab shows more than 30 years of expertise in research & innovation, with skills in modern software engineering techniques, like Agile prototyping, DevOps and Model Driven Engineering.

ATC has participated in key EU projects that deal with disinformation and social media analysis, with results that have turned into products like the Truly Media platform, used by broadcasters, news agencies, and journalists worldwide.

Its market position as a commercial software provider has equipped ATC with solid knowledge of how to design useful products covering the needs of media professionals. ATC is part of EDMO providing the technical infrastructure (based on Truly Media), as well as a member in the MedDMO, BROD, GADMO, BELUX, and CEDMO hubs.

EFE Verifica is an area of the Digital Content Department of EFE, an international, multilingual and multimedia news agency with a worldwide network of journalists.

In 2019, EFE launched its fact-checking service to respond to growing misinformation. Since then, EFE Verifica has provided useful information against falsehoods in Spanish through messages, videos, photographs or statements.

In this way, it helps broaden citizens’ knowledge and deepen their understanding of society to improve public debate and informed decision-making.

In addition, EFE Verifica is one of the signatories of the Code of Principles of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), which establishes commitments to non-partisanship and transparency and whose compliance is examined annually by independent evaluators.

Moreover, EFE Verifica has participated in the launch of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN), which brings together European fact-checkers to defend and promote the highest standards of verification and media literacy through a demanding code in a collective public service effort in the fight against misinformation.

The Applied Intelligence and Data Analysis is a research group at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The AI+DA research group is mostly focused on Artificial Intelligence research, with long experience leading international research projects and providing solutions to industrial partners. The group (http://aida.etsisi.upm.es), is specialised in the application and new development on both, intelligent and data mining techniques. The group has participated in 60+ competitive projects (national and international), being in 15 of them the Principal Investigator (PI) or coordinators. Besides, AIDA has participated in 17 international research projects, in 8 of them as PI/Coordinator, as well as in 15 projects with companies (art. 83), in 12 of them as PI.  

The AIDA group is currently considered as one of the top research teams in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Spain. The expertise of AIDA includes Machine Learning (Clustering, Classification and Deep Learning, Hidden Markov Models, Time series analysis, ensembles, XAI), Computational Intelligence (Evolutionary computation, Swarm Intelligence), Pattern and Process modelling and mining, Social Network Analysis (community finding algorithms, graph computing, information flow analysis), and Behavioural Human-based modelling and mining. The group has published 200+ (research) journals and 400+ conference papers.
